One Universal Connection
USB-C docking stations provide a single cable solution to Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and Surface users. Add displays, high-speed internet ethernet, and additional ports to connect peripheral devices, such as printers, mics, headphones, keyboards, mice and portable storage.
Stop flipping USB cables. With USB Type C the connector is reversible, there is no top or bottom it just goes in. Every direction is the right direction. The struggle to connect a USB cable wondering does it go this way or that is over.
Connect a display over USB-C
DisplayPort over USB-C allows you to output to a display from the USB-C port on your computer. For display output make sure that your system supports DisplayPort Alt Mode over the USB-C connection as not all USB-C ports support this feature. All Thunderbolt 3 systems support at least one display.
Charge and power your USB-C device with one cable. Newer USB-C cables and devices can support power delivery of up to 100W. Check your system documentation if this feature is supported.
USB-C and Thunderbolt™ 3 Ports
Thunderbolt™ 3 ports use the USB-C connection and are backwards compatible with USB-C standards. USB-C features such as power delivery, DisplayPort Alt Mode and 10 Gbps transfer speeds are supported. Only Thunderbolt™ 3 devices and cables can support the higher transfer speeds and capabilities of a Thunderbolt™ 3 port.
